This privacy policy contains information regarding your privacy when interacting with Tactus Therapy Solutions Ltd. (the ‘company’) including:

  • using our software applications for mobile devices
  • using our website
  • signing up for our newsletter or downloading our resources
  • emailing us or contacting us and interacting with us in other ways.
  • End User License Agreements (EULA)
  • Terms and Conditions

It was created by Tactus Therapy Solutions Ltd.

Our aim is to provide you with a clear and jargon-free policy that you can understand. Your privacy is important to us. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at

Here’s the plain language version of what’s below:

  • Apps: We collect NO personal information. We don’t even know if you own or use our apps. Some of our apps collect anonymous usage data that tells us things like how many people use an app, on which devices, and which screens they visit. You can opt-out of this anonymous usage info if you want on the Info screen of the app. We are beginning to remove even this information from our apps to make them as private as possible so if you don’t see a way to opt out in the Info screen, know that we are not collecting any of your data from the app.
  • Patient Privacy: There are ways you can enter, store, and send confidential information using some of our apps, but you don’t have to. Tactus Therapy doesn’t have access to any of this information.
  • Website: Our site uses the standard tools all websites use to run smoothly and collects anonymous analytics on things like how many users visit our website, which pages they look at etc. Only the information you give us (to get our newsletter, downloads, or support) is used to contact you and is never given to anyone else to use.
  • Newsletter and Resources: If you sign up for our free newsletter, or download any of our helpful resources, we will send you emails that we think are helpful and relevant. You can always unsubscribe or not read it.
  • EULA: we use the standard EULA provided by Apple or Google
  • Terms and Conditions: We make no guarantees about the effectiveness of our Apps. We always recommend you get advice from a professional who knows your individual circumstances. Please see our full Terms and Conditions.

Using Our Apps

User Provided Information

The applications do not require you to provide any information to the company. No logins. No accounts. No subscriptions. Just a single purchase per app. All purchase information is held by AppleGoogle or Amazon, depending on which app store you used to downloaded our apps. Please see their respective privacy policies for more information on how they use your information.

Patient Privacy for Healthcare

You may choose to enter, store, and transmit some personal information when you use the apps. Depending on the app, you may enter email addresses, names, photographs, recordings, words, or other items meant to personalize the therapy or make score reporting easier. These items are stored locally on the device and are not sent to us. If you delete the app from your device, all of these things will be deleted with it. None of this information is required to be entered to use the apps; it is all optional.

You are given the option to email score reports at the end of each session. If you choose to do this, the default Mail program on the device will send the data in an email to the recipient of your choice. This email will include audio recordings (if selected for export) and performance data from the app. In most cases, the performance data does not include protected healthcare data*. The email is sent through the servers specified on the device and for the recipient. We do not see these emails nor control where they go or are stored.

*Protecting patient privacy: There are 2 optional use cases that can put patient privacy at risk. It is important to be aware of these cases and avoid them if this is a concern.

  1. Apps with User Hubs: Asking Therapy and Answering Therapy (combined sold as Question Therapy 2-in-1) include a feature called the User Hub. These apps allow users to store multiple client names and scores in the app to track progress over time. If privacy is a concern, it is recommended that the user enter a name or number identifier that is not part of the protected healthcare information set, and/or password protect the device and store it in a safe location.
  2. Apps with Customization: The 4 apps in Language Therapy (Comprehension, Naming, Reading, and Writing Therapy), the 2 apps in Question Therapy (Asking and Answering Therapy), Spaced Retrieval Therapy, AlphaTopics, and Number Therapy give users the option to add custom items. The words, questions, or phone numbers in these custom items may include names or facts specific to a patient’s life or family. Similarly, the Advanced Naming Therapy app encourages users to create sentences in the Create activity, and these user-generated sentences may include names relevant to the patient. The email report may include data about the accuracy of these items as completed in the app, revealing the personal information (e.g. Item 12. “Frank” – spelled correctly, Item 13. “Banana” – spelled correctly). If custom items are added, you can delete them at the end of each session or store the device in a secure location with a password.

All apps can be used successfully without putting patient privacy at risk by not emailing sensitive information and being careful with custom items.

Automatically-Collected Information

The applications may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile operating system and version, if you clicked on an ad before installing the app, and information about the way you use each application (for example the screens you visit and buttons you touch). Your usage data is aggregated and anonymized, which means we have no way through the information we collect to know which individual is using our apps or what they are doing with it. We only know that someone is using our apps and they are using it in a certain way.

We use a number of services to do this.

Why do you ask permission for access to the microphone?

Some of our apps make use of the microphone to record you speaking so that you can evaluate how you are performing on the task. Other apps use the microphone to allow you to record your own stimulus items to be used within the app. When the app is recording, it will be clearly indicated. This recorded information is never transmitted to us. Some apps offer the ability to include the recordings you have made in any email reports that you send. If this is the case, it will be clearly indicated.

You can always disable the microphone permission on your device if you’d prefer not to make use of these features. The app will still otherwise work without having microphone permission for recording. Please refer to your manufacturer’s device manual for details on how to disable microphone permission.

Why do you ask permission for access to the camera?

Some of our apps make use of the camera to allow you to capture your own stimulus items to be used within the app. These images are never transmitted to us.

You can always disable the camera permission on your device if you’d prefer not to make use of these features. The app will still otherwise work without having camera permission. Please refer to your manufacturer’s device manual for details on how to disable camera permission.
